In these days of ‘healthy choices’, custom diets, and food restrictions… vegan, vegetarian, keto, gluten-free… it seems almost politically incorrect to admit it, but I am a bit of a ‘foodie’. I love to cook and eat. There. I said it!
This year, Mistress and I have experimented with several of the meal delivery companies – Hello Fresh (HF), EveryPlate (EP), and Dinnerly. It may surprise you to learn (it did me) that Hello Fresh actually owns EveryPlate, so the experience is almost identical, Everyplate being slightly cheaper. They all provide very fresh, well packaged ingredients. In many cases, even better than my local grocery store. HF and EP provide colorful, detailed recipe cards in the box, Dinnerly expects you to download and print them yourself from their website. The recipes can get hard to follow sometimes, but are generally easy (All 45 minutes or less) and produce a tasty meal for either 2 or 4 depending on what you ordered.
Crimson Pie – Had this for the first time while standing in the woods with a group of total strangers at White Memorial Conservation Center on a crisp, clear, cold Thanksgiving day walk.
Chai-tini – I don’t drink, because I’m allergic to alcohol. If I have even a little bit I tend to break out in handcuffs. 😉 But Mistress LOVES this drink as an after dinner treat. We discovered it at Infinity Hall, where you can have dinner and drinks while watching the show!
Strawberry Angel Food cake – Great summertime dessert.
Mom’s Apple pie – My mother’s recipe for apple pie
Olive Garden Zuppa Toscana Soup
Chicago Uno Shrimp and clam dip
Appy Hour! Mexican Street Corn Dip with Tortilla Chips
Ambrosia
Wendy’s Frosty – If you like Wendy’s fast food Frosty, here is the recipe!
